What is FastWeb?

Fastweb Dialup Accelerator is a client/server solution that uses proprietary compression technology to optimize bandwidth and improve the performance of web-based applications, accelerating access to emails, FTP and other mission-critical business data by up to 6X, while supporting VPN and SSL security. Fastweb delivers up to 40X compression for text-based data and reduces bandwidth requirements by up to 98%.

What will not be accelerated?

Although FastWeb is able to compress many different types of online data, there are a few which cannot be accelerated:

• Secure pages, such as those used for online banking and credit card forms

Add the FastWeb service to your existing dialup Internet access plan FREE for 14 days.
If you decide to keep the service, the cost is $1.50 per Month.

How does it work?

With traditional dial-up methods, the text and graphics that make up web pages get sent from the server to you over your phone line. Because of the large amount of data required to be sent, this process can be painfully slow. FastWeb compresses this data using a proprietary technology, and sends it over your existing dialup phone line. This compression process allows a smaller amount data to be sent – up to five times less – making the download time of your web pages and your online experience that much faster. As an added download time reducer, FastWeb stores elements of the web sites you visit frequently eliminating the need to re-download them every time you visit these sites.
